Lone Tree in Lake Wanaka (BW)
Wanaka, Otago, New Zealand
One of the things Wanaka, a town on the South Island of New Zealand, is most famous for is the Wanaka Tree. Basically, it’s a tree that is growing directly out of the lake, seemingly just there with no problem at all. On our trip round the South Island earlier in 2016, we visited Wanaka during the middle of a very dull day. No colourful sky, and even the colour of the leaves on the tree was hard to distinguish. I decided to ignore the lack of colour, and focus on the structure of the scene instead. A colourful 'Wanaka Tree' shot will have to wait until another visit...
