Lake Matheson, near the Fox Glacier in South Westland, New Zealand, is famous for its reflected views of Aoraki/Mount Cook and Mount Tasman. On the day this photo was taken, the mountains were covered in clouds for most of the day. Just before sunset, the mountains became visible and we rushed to Lake Matheson to get a dream shot. At the first lookout point, where this photo was taken, you can just see Mt Tasman, but the mountains are still mostly hidden behind trees. Everything was still looking good, so we ran further to the second lookout point where we could obtain the perfect reflection. By the time we got there, the clouds had once again obscured the mountains. So, this is my best shot, until a next visit... Photo Id: JAB_20160111_7DMII_7801.
